10 Reasons to shoot in Barcelona!
This week we put the spotlight firmly on Seasuns HQ, Barcelona. The Catalan capital is a firm favourite with tourists, with over 7.5 million visitors last year.
Barcelona offers everything you could possibly want – here are the Top 10 reasons you need to bring your next shoot to Barcelona!
1. It’s got everything!
It’s the perfect backdrop – beach, desert, mountains, snow, sand, wide modern streets and quaint narrow alleyways, coupled with sunshine and clear blue skies in abundance. In addition, it has an eclectic mix of culture, architecture by day, and delicious restaurants and heady bars and clubs by night.
2. Location location location!
Barcelona has every different type of location – pool houses, cosy homes for lifestyle shoots, loft apartments, office blocks, nature, beaches, parks, deserts….

3. A Vibrant and Multicultural City
The melting pot of nationalities (from Europe and beyond) living in Barcelona means our casting and modelling agencies have access to over 2000 models and actors from all different cultures and races.
4. Easier working conditions for child models
If you’ve ever been involved in productions with children, you’ll be familiar with the red tape and bureacracy. Here, waiting times for permits are low, with less paperwork and more hours in front of camera per day, and generally less problems compared to other European countries.
5. Number 1 choice for Car Commercials
It seems half of the worlds car commercials are shot here, with Peugeot, Ford, Suzuki, BMW, Nissan, Hyundai, Vauxhall, Mini, Seat, Audi and Mercedes all shooting here in the past two years.
Key to this is the kit required for filming – which not all cities can offer – the Scorpio Arm for example, is native to Barcelona.
In addition, Barcelona offers open roads with skyscraper backdrops, breathtaking cliff edges and hairpin bends!
6. The 1992 Legacy lives on
The city was transformed for the 1992 Olympics and Barcelona continues to host major sporting events – the X Games and the World Swimming Championships have both been held here in recent weeks. The Camp Nou is the stadium with the highest average number of visitors per year.
The upshot of the city’s Olympic legacy is the variety of top class stadia, pools, running tracks, courts, pitches and gyms now available as filming locations. Messi and friends dont base themselves here for nothing…!
7. Multilingual and internationally experienced crews
Barcelona is one of the most multicultural cities in Europe, and we have a great team of technical crew and assistants, native to the UK, Germany, France, Holland, Italy and Spain. In addition, we also have a tip top database of local professionals here if you are keen to keep your travelling crew to a minimum. All of our team members are handpicked for their skills and experience.
8. Work Hard Play Hard
After a long day’s shoot, BCN offers a wealth of famous restaurants, bars and clubs to impress your clients. Catalonia is famed for it’s cuisine, in no small part thanks to the Adrià brothers and (the sadly now closed) El Bulli restaurant.
Barcelona has some of the best seafood the Mediterranean has to offer, and mojitos and gin & tonics are popular with the crowds here. The perfect way to unwind!
9. The Weather!
There are blue skies pretty much EVERYDAY:
10. Low-cost flights!
Barcelonas central European location means you can fly here from most capital cities in Europe in less than 2hrs.
With hundreds of low-cost flights to and from Barcelona every day, theres really nothing stopping you!
